Making the Invisible Visible on the Coaching Journey

Feeling invisible, sensing that you can’t make yourself seen no matter what you do, and the failure, anxiety, and frustration that come with it, is a feeling that everyone may experience from time to time, and it can be difficult to cope with. This feeling can sometimes hold us captive, and whenever a person feels invisible, it may manifest as anger or withdrawal. One of the greatest awarenesses that coaching brings into our lives is realizing that what we think, feel, and how we want to behave is entirely in our control, and this gives us tremendous power, influence, and a sense of empowerment.
Becoming visible through your own strengths
Coaching is one of the most valuable journeys that reminds us of our strengths, which are at the core of our existence, whether innate or developed through great effort over time, and helps us become visible. In fact, it allows us to realize that what we need to hold on to, what makes us visible, is not someone else, but ourselves. And being visible truly begins once we start seeing ourselves. The moment we begin to illuminate ourselves with our own light, that light instantly catches others’ eyes, and people begin to admire the radiance and energy spreading. Because people can only see someone where they position themselves, and they recognize them only through the impact they create and the results they achieve. Meanwhile, the presence of the coach becomes crucial at this point. As the closest companion on the journey to make the invisible visible, the coach helps the client recognize their strengths, use them for support, and shine through those strengths, becoming the most valuable travel partner.
Holding on to your values and strengths
After all this, if we were to paraphrase Bukowski’s quote, “When you’re invisible, hold on to those who notice you,” in our own words, it would probably be something like, “When you’re invisible, hold on to your values, inner integrity, and strengths, for they will make you visible and noticeable.”
